About Us
The Foundation for Community Association Research is devoted to common interest community research, development, and scholarship. Incorporated in 1975, the Foundation is the only organization both recording the history of, and identifying trends in, residential community association living. A 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation supports and conducts research and makes that information available to those involved in association governance and management.
The Foundation supports Community Associations Institute (CAI), a national organization dedicated to fostering vibrant, competent, harmonious community associations. For more than 30 years, CAI has been the leader in providing education and resources to the volunteer homeowners who govern community associations and the professionals who support them. CAI members include community association volunteer leaders, professional managers, community management firms, and other professionals and companies that provide products and services to associations. There are close to 300,000 community associations across the country, reflecting the growth of community-based solutions to modern housing problems.
The Foundation is led by a 16-member Board of Directors. The Board is made up of dedicated volunteers who give their time and expertise to making the Foundation a leader in community association research and development. Learn more about the Foundation's leaders.
