Jerry Fein Scholarships Awarded for CAI's National Conference

Alexandria, VA. March 2008—In honor of Jerry Fein's longstanding commitment to homeowner involvement in Community Associations Institute (CAI), the Foundation for Community Association Research established a scholarship fund in 2004 to provide financial support for homeowners to attend CAI's National Conference. Scholarship winners receive a registration for the conference, plus a maximum of $1,000 to cover travel and lodging expenses at the conference hotel. Up to two scholarships are available for CAI's National Conference & Exposition held in the spring each year.

In March 2008, two scholarships were awarded to individual homeowners that demonstrated a thorough involvement in their communities. This included, but was not limited to, involvement in their community association as a board or committee member as well as involvement at their local CAI Chapter. This scholarship allowed them the opportunity to attend CAI's national conference in Orlando, FL. After the submission of numerous applications, each was reviewed by the Foundation for Community Association Research's Executive Committee. The applicants were chosen and notified of their selection. The individuals awarded the Jerry Fein scholarship for this particular conference are Martin Frankel of Boca Raton, FL and Otis Turner of Sacramento, CA.

The Foundation for Community Association Research is a national, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to common interest community research, development, and scholarship. Incorporated in 1975, the Foundation supports and conducts research in the community, homeowner, and condominium association industry.
